Mary McCluskey Campbell
(August 5, 1939 - September 18, 2019)
Funeral services for Mrs. Mary McCluskey Campbell, 80, of Carrollton will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21,
at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Teoc, with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton. Rev. Lanny
Haley and Rev. Joseph Sansing will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Ryan Hopkins, Eric Hopkins, Wayne
Clunan, Robby Clunan, Michael Clunan, Garrett Williams, Will Turner, and Bill McCluskey.
Visitation will be Friday, September 20, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Lee Funeral Home.
Mrs. Campbell died at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood on Wednesday, September 18. She was born in
Carroll County on August 5, 1939, to Amazon T. and Lenora Ricks Dickson. She was a 1958 graduate of J. Z. George
High School in North Carrollton and a former employee of Baldwin Piano in Greenwood. She was a retired cook,
having cooked for restaurants and for Carroll Academy. She also volunteered her cooking skills at fundraisers for the
Greenville Burn Center and for area Senior Citizens gatherings. Mrs. Campbell was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist
Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Eddie
McCluskey; and a sister, Minnie Lou May.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by her husband, James Campbell of Carrollton; daughters, Alice Compton (Walter) of
McCarley, Linda Welch (Randy) of Holcomb, Ann Clunan (Thomas) of Carrollton; son, Virgil McCluskey (Jamie) of
Grenada; sister, Faye Watts of Raleigh; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
