Lena Shelton Hedgepeth
(August 21, 1929 - September 12, 2018)
Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Shelton Hedgepeth of Winona will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, at First Baptist Church in
Winona, with Rev. Jay Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Shelton Cemetery in Copiah County.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 16, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hedgepeth, 89, died of congestive heart failure at her daughter's home in Winona on Wednesday, September 12. She was born in
Copiah County on August 21, 1929, to Moses and Lona Ferguson Shelton. Mrs. Hedgepeth was a retired elementary school teacher at
Winona Elementary School and was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church in Winona. She was a member of the Friends of the
Winona-Montgomery County Library and a library volunteer. Mrs. Hedgepeth loved her Sunday School class and loved her family
unselfishly. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, W. E. "Buck" Hedgepeth; daughter, Linda Ann Caulder;
son, Shelton Hedgepeth; and three brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Celia Hedgepeth Graham of Winona; son, Joey Hedgepeth (Libby) of Winona; eleven grandchildren; and
Pallbearers will be Robbie Hedgepeth, Will Hedgepeth, Rodney Hedgepeth, Stephen Caulder,Joel Whitfield, Jeffrey Whitfield, Craig
Rushing, Laine Leverette,and Sam Jacobs.

Celia, Joey, Stephen, Joel, Jeffery, I am so sorry about Miss Lena. I know you will miss her. She was a good mother
and grandmother. She was always so nice to me. Take comfort in the fact that hers was a life filled with love, family,
