Ruth P. Middleton
(January 31, 1919 - October 13, 2017)
Ruth Pittman Middleton, 98, of Winona passed away on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Greenwood-Leflore Hospital after suffering a broken hip
on Monday, October 2 and the resulting heart failure. Funeral services are 2:00 pm Monday, October 16 at Oliver Funeral Home with
visitation one hour prior to services. Rev. Linda Malone will officiate and burial will follow in Lambert Memorial Cemetery, Lambert, MS.
Ruth was born in the Lodi community of Montgomery County to the late Mattie Bell Stoker and William Nuit Pittman on January 31, 1919. She
was the last surviving member of the Alva High School, Class of 1937. She was widowed at age 39, then worked as an Advertising Clerk for
Lewis Grocery Company in Indianola until her retirement in 1982.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, James Aubrey Middleton; son Robert; sisters, Mary Lynn Castle, Iris
Patridge, and Frances Montgomery; brothers, Arnold Pittman, Harold Pittman, Nuit Pittman, and Paul Pittman.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Carole Richardson (Bob) of Lexington, Al; son, James Middleton (Gloria) and de facto son, Sam Pittman,
both of Winona; grandchildren, Marcie Middleton of Charlotte, NC, Marc Middleton of Greenville, SC, Elizabeth Moorman of Winona, Katherine
Crowder (Marty) of Ackerman, Marilaine Ferguson (Shae) of Winona, Debbie White of Knoxville, TN, Bobby Middleton (Beth) of Birmingham,
Al, Jason Burchfield (Katina) of Huntsville, Al, and Dena DeMaioribus (David) of Huntsville, Al; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one
Pallbearers are Arnie Pittman, Harold Pittman, Marc Middleton, Bobby Middleton, Jason Burchfield, Marty Crowder, Shae Ferguson, Wiley
Charles Prewitt, and Joseph Prewitt. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Pittman, Wiley Prewitt, Steve West, Hank Holmes, and David Putman.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Ruth. Keeping the entire family in our prayers.
My deepest sympathy to James and Carole and their families on the loss of one of the most special ladies I have
known. She was a very special lady and will be greatly missed by me and all who knew her. Love and prayers go to
I loved Ms. Middleton I visited her in the nursing home. She would always know what day I usually came. She always
would tell me she missed me not coming when I didn't get to go. I will miss seeing her. She had a long life. My prayers
will be with the family in the days ahead.
Praying for Mrs. Ruth's family and friends to be comforted. I know y'all will miss her.
