Hettie Louree "Missy" Lancaster Mullen
(January 29, 1957 - March 10, 2018)

On Saturday, March 10, 2018, an infectious laugh left this world.  Hettie Louree “Missy” Lancaster Mullen, 61, has been a source of joy for
many since her birth in Kansas in 1957.  She was reared in Winona, Miss, and graduated from Winona Academy (1974). Following high
school, Missy attended both Mississippi State University and Delta State University (1978), where she majored in Education.

Most at home in front of a group of eager, young minds, Missy loved helping children reach their potential.  Whether it was teaching them
about Native American tribes or how to diagram a sentence, she did her best to prepare each child for the world to come and helped them
have fun in the process.  She will be missed as a mentor to the hundreds of students she taught.

While Missy excelled as an educator, God made her to be a friend, mother and grandmother—at these roles she had no equal.  As a friend,
she was unwavering and true. As a mother she was firm and caring, and as a grandmother she was quite less firm but full of infinite love for
her two precious grandsons.  While we did not get to have her as long as we would have loved, we loved our time with her, and will love her
longer than this life allows.

Missy’s laughter can still be found in those here who loved her most, her son Tabor (Jackie) Mullen, daughter Lynn (Will) Russell,
grandsons Carson Mullen and Liam Russell, sister Lynn (Randy) Coleman, nephew Kelly Coleman, and faithful dachshund, Olive.

A memorial service will be held for Missy Mullen on March 16th at 1 p.m. at Immanuel Church in Winona.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that you donate to MSU’s Student Relief Fund facilitated by the MSU Foundation.
