Clyde Henry Jenkins

Clyde Henry Jenkins, age 88, passed away at his home in Leesburg, GA, on Saturday, March 16, 2019. He was born on July 22, 1930, in
Montgomery County, Mississippi, to Henry Jenkins and Susan Smith Jenkins. Clyde was the youngest of ten children. After serving in the
U.S. Air Force, Clyde earned a Master’s Degree from Mississippi State University. He was a teacher for 29 years and retired from the
Dougherty County School System, in Albany, GA, in 1988. He was a member of the Church of Christ and the American Legion.
Clyde will be lovingly remembered and is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Jacks Jenkins of Leesburg, GA; their children Wanda
Christman Richards of Carrollton, GA, Susan Thomas [Gary] of Leesburg, GA; William Jenkins of St. Petersburg, FL; and daughter-in-law,
Janet Jenkins, of Pelham, GA. Clyde will also be fondly remembered by his seven grandchildren; Gaylen Jenkins, Andrea Jenkins, Dean
Christman, Sarah Christman DeMatteis [Mike], Adam Thomas [Carrie], Julie Thomas, Clay Thomas [Lauren]; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Clyde Jenkins Jr.; and his siblings; Gladys Jenkins, Marvin Jenkins, Earl Jenkins,
Lena Pace, Dewey Jenkins, Lois Peeler, Lola Henderson, Lula Mae Bond, and Charlie Alvin Jenkins.
A funeral service in memory of Clyde will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will
follow in the family plot at Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Visitation will be Thursday, from 1:00 p.m. until service time, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Clay Thomas, Adam Thomas, Dee Christman, Jim Shelton, Billy Guy Brister, and Guy Brister. Honorary pallbearer is

With Heartfelt Sympathy and Condolences for the "Mr J" family. He was such a wonderful Mentor to Jim and I when
we rented from them in 1963. He and Joyce have always been Family to us and we loved them dearly. I am sure he w ill
be deeply missed. Joyce and Family, Stay Strong, Positive, and know that "Mr. J" will Always be by your side and in
your heart walking daily with all of you. Wish I could be there with all of you but please know I am there in Spirit and
