Agnes Cottingham Heath
(September 22, 1925 - September 12, 2019)
Funeral services for Mrs. Agnes Cottingham Heath of Winona will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17,
in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Eskridge Cemetery at Eskridge. Rev. Jerry McNeer, Rev.
Sam Riddell, and Rev. George B. Heath III, will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be George B. Heath III, Eddye
Addison, Josh Heath, Philip Heath, Sam Marter, and Mark Fielder.
Visitation will be Monday, September 16, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Heath, 93, passed away at Vaiden Community Living Center in Vaiden on Thursday, September 12, 2019. She
was born in Montgomery County on September 22, 1925, and was the daughter of the late W B and Sallie Belle Box
Cottingham. She was a retired nurse with Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona. Mrs. Heath was a member of
Eskridge Baptist Church, and had attended Community Baptist Church near Kilmichael for several years. She was
also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star-J B Small Chapter 78, the Triple L Club, the American Legion
Auxiliary, and the Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Heath was preceded in
death by her husband, Rev. George B. Heath; her son, Rev. George B. "Pete" Heath Jr.; granddaughters, Ashley
Marie Heath and April DeLoach; great-granddaughter, Mercedes Sellers; great-great-granddaughter, Harmony
Collins; a sister, Ruth Land; and brothers, Horace, Melvin, and Kenneth Cottingham.
Mrs. Heath is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Marter (Steve) of Duck Hill; sons, Jesse Eugene Heath (Ruth) of
Ridgeland and David Cottingham Heath (Lana) of Winona; sisters, Sara Williams of Learned and Marilyn McHaffey
(David) of Marietta, Georgia; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eskridge Cemetery Fund, 209 Locke Drive, Kilmichael, MS 39747; or to
a charity of the donor's choice.
I am sorry about Miss Agnes. She was a sweet and kind lady. I know you will miss her, but you have wonderful
memories. Your family are in my prayers.

- even new nurses. Ms. Agnes was always willing to help, encourage, and lead by example. My prayers will include the
