Nellie Jones
(March 23, 1928 - February 12, 2017)

Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Jones of North Carrollton will be held at 2:00 p.m .on Wednesday, February 15, at the Greenwood Church
of God in Greenwood, with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton.  Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday, from
noon until service time.

Mrs. Jones, 88, died at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood on Sunday, February 12.  She was born in Linn, Mississippi, on March
23, 1928, to Wooster and Nancy Pinion Phillips.  She was a homemaker and provided childcare for numerous children for over fifty years.  
She was a member of Greenwood Church of God, where she worked in the nursery.  She was a very giving person who loved to cook and
enjoyed music, yardwork, and gardening.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Woodrow H. Jones; grandson, Jeffrey
Jones; four sisters; and seven brothers.

Mrs. Jones is survived by two daughters, Margaret Jones Shaheen (Michael) of Hazlehurst and Angela Jones Smith (Steven) of
Greenwood; one son, Dennis Jones (Kay) of Carrollton; two sisters, Grace White (John) of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Mary Gordon of
Greenville; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rob Grones, William Smith, Brent Chastang, Randy Goss, Donnie Daves, and Forrest Clay.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenwood Church of God, Nicaragua Mission Project, 706 Brentwood Avenue, Greenwood,
MS 38930.
