Clarice McIver Weeks, 88, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020, in Oxford, Mississippi. She was born on August 17,
1931, in Savage, Mississippi, to Otis and Lottie McIver. Two weeks before her 16th birthday, she was walking with her
friend and noticed a handsome man repairing a telephone line. His name was James Weeks. They went out that night

basketball fan. She worked hard raising her children and grandchildren. She was deeply devoted to her family, always
putting them first. She was kind and welcoming and never met a stranger.
Clarice was active in her church and community. After Papa retired, they moved to his hometown of West, Mississippi.
She was a faithful member of the West Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the West Civic Club and
enjoyed helping with various projects to restore parts of downtown West. She and Papa also restored a beautiful 1880s
home, which they lovingly named "the Magnolias". She would spend months each year decorating for Christmas and put
Christmas trees in every room.
