Carolyn Curtis Greenlee
(February 15, 1926 - January 14, 2018)
Funeral services for Carolyn Curtis Greenlee of Winona will be Wednesday, January 17, at 1:00 p.m. in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel,
with burial following in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery near Kilmichael. Rev. Brad Herod and Rev. Tony Black will officiate the
services. Pallbearers will be Ricky Greenlee, David Pollard, Matthew Greenlee, Bob Thiel, John Adam Greenlee, Michael Greenlee, Todd
Hodges, and Arron Greenlee. Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Greenlee, Shane Murray, Chris Farmer, Ben Mobley, and Doug Mullins.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 16 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mrs. Greenlee, 91, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Winona Manor Nursing Home. She was born to William Denton and Alva
Jones Curtis on February 15, 1926. After her marriage to William Ernest "Buddy" Greenlee during World War ll, they lived in San Diego, CA,
where he served in B24 construction. They later moved to Oak Ridge, TN. After WW ll, the family moved to Miami, FL, until 1950, at which
time they returned to Mississippi to farm, factory work, and later own and manage L&M Country Store in Poplar Creek prior to retirement. Mrs.
Greenlee was former president and member of the Poplar Creek Homemakers Club, former secretary for Montgomery County Home
Extension Service, and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church near Kilmichael. She also contributed to the Winona Times including
the "Poplar Creek News".
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Barnhill and husband, Bobby, of Winona; two sons, Jerry Greenlee and wife, Connie, of Poplar
Creek and John Greenlee and wife, Jennifer, of Rienzi; daughter-in-law, Krinn Biggers Greenlee; brother, Dr. Alvin Curtis of Fayetteville, GA;
18 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter,
Mary Anna Greenlee; son, William Elliot Greenlee; and brother W.D. 'Bill' Curtis, Jr.
Memorial contributions may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
