Funeral services for Nina Sue Little Brooks of Winona will be held Monday, July 7, 2025 in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P. M. Burial will follow in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County. Rev. Terry Corley and Rev. Randy Dees will officiate the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Trent Little, Jeff Little, Jeff Pickle, Chris Kelly, Kevin Browning, Mike Jones, and Josh Avant. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Little, Harvey Swindoll, Tim Little, and Chris Brooks.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 6, from 5:00-7:00 P. M. at Oliver Funeral Home and on Monday, July 7, from 1:00 P. M. until service time.
Mrs. Brooks passed away Friday, July 4. She was 81 years old. She was born on August 20, 1943, to Thomas Devoe and Nina Corley Little in Carroll County, MS. She was a 1961 graduate of J. Z. George High School in Carrollton, and she worked in the administration office at Greenwood Leflore Hospital for ten years as well as working as a seamstress from her home. She was a member of Mission Baptist Church in Winona. She also shared her God given gift of music by playing the piano in many churches throughout the area for sixty-one years.
She is Survived by her husband, Roy Darnell Brooks of Winona; daughter, Tammie Avant of Oxford; two sons, Kevin Avant (Brandy) of Carrollton and Chris Brooks of Clinton; two grandchildren, Josh Avant and Whitley Kelly (Chris); one great grandchild, Ava Jane Kelly; and one brother, Rev. Billy Little of Elliot. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brooks was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Little and her sister, Lillie Mae Little.
