Alice Marie Duncan Blakely

Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Marie Duncan Blakely, of Winona, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Rev. Eddie Hollowell will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be C J Wilson, Devon Wilson, Reece Ward, Ashley Blakely, Ashton Upton, and Kayla Kelley.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 30, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.

Mrs. Alice Marie Duncan Blakely, 76, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born in Oklahoma to George Travis and Vera Mae Smith Duncan on October 1, 1946. She was a retired seamstress and cashier. She attended North Winona Baptist Church and Eskridge Baptist Church and was a member of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Mrs. Blakely is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Marie Bell of West Plains, MO; sons, Homer “Ed” Blakely, Jr. of Winona, Jerry C. Blakely of Grenada, and James C. Blakely of Winona; brothers, Lonnie Duncan and Doug Duncan, both of Oklahoma City, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer Ed Blakely; son, David Travis Blakely; two sisters; and one granddaughter.

  2. I always loved Ms. Alice. She cared so much about her family—you could tell she was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

    The world is a dimmer place without her in it.
