Alyne King Welch, 99, of Vaiden passed away at Vaiden Community Living Center in Vaiden on Thursday, February 11, 2021. She was born in Vaiden on March 8, 1921, to Walter Clarence and Daisy Lee Carter King. She loved to cook and was a retired cook for the Carroll County School System in Vaiden. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church near Vaiden.
Mrs. Welch is survived by three daughters, Alice Fay Price, Bobbie Jo King, and Marie Cummings (DeLynn), all of Vaiden; two sons, Walter Clarence Welch and William Douglas Welch, both of Vaiden; one brother, Harold King of Vaiden; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Curtis Welch; and her siblings, J. B. King, Earnest King, Arthur Joe King, Clayton Earl King, Claudell King, Margaret King Davis, Harvey Dell King, Evelyn King, Annie Pauline King Davis, and Billy Lamont King.
There will be a graveside service for Mrs. Welch at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, at Vaiden Cemetery in Vaiden, with Rev. Doug Warren officiating.
