Funeral services for Mrs. Andrea Stanford Armstrong, of Winona, will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 6, at Scotland Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Fletcher Moorman and Rev. Paul Trosper will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Cody Armstrong, Caleb Reid, Noah Reid, Davis Lovelace, Guy Stanford, Jr., Jim Wood, and Tony Stanford. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Guy Stanford, Brent Stanford, Arvil Stanford, Billy Chesteen, Andy Armstrong, Robert Ward, Ralph Ellison, Norton Rodgers, and Arkell Armstrong.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 6, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Scotland Baptist Church.
Mrs. Armstrong passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Vaiden Community Living Center, at the age of 85. She was born in Ackerman, Mississippi to Henry Guy and Nola Jane Irvin Stanford on May 5, 1941. She was retired from Screw Conveyor Corporation in Winona. Known by her family as a fierce competitor, she enjoyed playing rook, chicken scratch, and really any other game or activity anyone dared to challenge her in. Earlier in her life, she even played semi-pro basketball. She enjoyed cooking, especially her biscuits (her grandchildren’s favorite), to whom she passed her recipe down to. She was an active and faithful member of Scotland Baptist Church in Winona and enjoyed many church activities. She also enjoyed fellowship with other churches through groups such as: Live Wires of Vaiden and the Triple L Club and Women on Mission at First Baptist Church of Winona. She cherished her time spent with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Branch (Bruce) of Winona; son, Mike Armstrong (Lisa) of Brandon; sisters, Betty Sue Chesteen of French Camp and Shirley Watts of McCool; brother, David Stanford of Louisiana; four grandchildren, Lacey Lovelace (Davis), Amber Armstrong, Brandi Reid (Caleb), and Cody Armstrong (Janie); four great-grandchildren, Noah, Lana Rose, Charley Brooke, and Brantley; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Webster B. “Billy” Armstrong; sisters, Eloise Braswell and Opal Ward; and brothers, James E. Stanford and John Stanford.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Keith Rushing, Nurse Practitioner Julia Johnson and the entire medical staff at Tyler Holmes Hospital, Vaiden Community Living Center and AccentCare Home Health, for providing compassionate care and support throughout Andrea’s illness. Your kindness and professional care meant so much to our family.

We are so sorry to hear about Andrea. We did not know she was in VCLC. She loved the Lord and her family. I (Deborah) worked with them at Olson’s. I will never forget how Billy would pick at me when we first got married. Those were some good times. Very sweet memories of them both. I remember her as “Poochie.” Never knew where her nickname came from. I will be sure and let Dennis know. He is also at VCLC. Love in Christ!
