Funeral services for Mr. Andrew C. “Pete” McCorkle of Vaiden will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Vaiden Cemetery. Rev. David Westmoreland will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Jason Holly, William Crenshaw, Gene Hurt, Ronnie Robertson, Adam Eldridge, and John Huggins. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky McCorkle and Wayne Cook.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 17, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Andrew C. “Pete” McCorkle, 82, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022, at his residence near Vaiden. He was born to William and Kitty Sullivan McCorkle November 6, 1939. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Carroll County and a retired self-employed construction worker.
Mr. McCorkle is survived by his wife, Hilda Pinkston McCorkle of Vaiden; daughter, Kathy Eddins (Don) of Vaiden; son, Andy McCorkle (Delinda) of Vaiden; brother, Fred McCorkle of Leland; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Leneva Stewart, Margie Mullen, and Mozelle Nelms and brothers, Estes McCorkle and Charles McCorkle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vaiden Cemetery Fund, PO Box 206, Vaiden, MS 39176.
