
Funeral services for Mr. Barron Neal Davis of Stewart will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22 in the Oliver Chapel, with burial following in Reeds Chapel Cemetery in Stewart. Rev. Luke Pogue will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Neal Davis, Steven Davis, John Singletary, Carter Pogue, Luke Pogue, and Michael Davis. Larry Woods will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 22 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Barron Neal Davis, 83, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024, at his residence in Stewart. He was born in Bankston, MS to Buford and Myrtle Woods Davis on November 22, 1941. Mr. Davis graduated from Weir High School in 1959 and later attended Wood Junior College, where he was voted class president. Earlier in his career he worked for Western Electric and retired after 27 years of service. He also owned and operated 4D Grocery in Stewart for 47 years, serving his beloved Stewart community. He loved to travel and shared his love for traveling with his family and friends. Mr. Davis was a United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Davis of Stewart; two sons, Charles Davis (Leigh) of Stewart and Barry L. Davis of Stewart; sister, Sheila Davis Singletary (John) of Hazel Green, AL; brother, Bryan Davis (Elizabeth) of Columbus; three grandchildren, Lauren Pogue (Luke) of Eupora, Neal Davis (Ana) of Stewart, and Steven Davis (Kimberly) of Coffeeville; seven great-grandchildren with one on the way, Carter Pogue, Logan Pogue, Hannah Pogue, Maggie Davis, Bennett Davis, Kameron Davis and Stetson Davis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Edward Davis.
