Benny Earl Lott

A private family graveside service for Benny Earl Lott of Stewart will be held at a later date.

Benny Earl Lott, 82, passed away at his brother’s residence in Stewart on October 10, 2023. He was born in Webster County on November 25, 1940, to Edward Haywood and Carrie Maye Threet Lott. He was a retired timber cruiser, working for several companies throughout his career. After retirement, he spent his time working and farming for the May family at May’s Farm Fresh in Stewart.

He is survived by sister, Merle Jones (Bobby) of Weir; brother, Mackie Lott (Cheryl) of Stewart; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Maywood Jones, Myra Sue Putman, and Myrna Lynn Davis; and four brothers, Gary “Tiny” Lott, John Elton Lott, Walter Eldred Lott and Robert Edward Lott.

  1. Benny Earl was a good man. We worked together for Chicago Mill & Lumber, West Helena AK in the Forestry Dept 1968-1973. We had lots of fun hunting, fishing, up and down the Great Mississippi River. We planted some of the first cottonwood plantations on the Mississippi River on Tunica cutoff. What a joy it was working with Benny. He will be missed
