Funeral services for Bernard Yates of Winona will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Randy Bridges officiating. Burial will follow in Winona Garden of Memory. Pallbearers will be Tommy Gene Blaylock, Brandon Amason, Carl Wayne Amason, Santos Cirilo, Reece Ward, and C.J. Wilson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be his breakfast friends from Bridges Kwik Way.
Bernard Yates, 82, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona. He was born to Clinton and Doris Palmertree Yates on March 24, 1941. Prior to retirement, he owned and operated Yates Body Shop in Winona. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his daughters, Melissa Yates Blaylock (Tommy Gene) and Tinker Bell Yates Lindsey (Larry); son, Henry “Bone” Wright; brother, Jerry Yates (Jill); four grandchildren, Brandon Amason (Angela), Carl Wayne Amason (Kelly), Will Yates (Trina), and Amanda Cirilo (Santos); and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Troy Yates and stepmother, Mary Yates.
