Graveside services for Cecil Welch of Baton Rouge, LA formerly of Vaiden, MS will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 19, at Vaiden Cemetery. Pastor Stephanie Welch will officiate the service.

Cecil Welch, 88, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2024, at his home in Baton Rouge, LA. He was born to Willie Cornelius “Monkey” and Lorene Estelle Brooks Welch on August 5, 1935. He was a member of Vaiden Baptist Church. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and a retired self-employed building contractor.

Mr. Welch is survived by his daughters Patricia Joyce Stuart (Roger) of Vaiden, Victoria Welch and Jennifer Welch, both of Baton Rouge, LA; sons, Cecil Kent Welch of Diamond Head, Larry Alan Welch (Teresa) of Vaiden, and Charles Michael Welch (Carol) of Pelahatchie; sisters, Mary Welch Sampley of Vaiden, Janie Tollison of Starkville, and Barbara Matthews of Vaiden; brothers, Robert Welch of Vaiden, Ray Welch of Vaiden, and Wayne Welch of Winona; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
