Charles E. Sheffield

Funeral services for Mr. Charles E. Sheffield of Winona will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, at North Winona Baptist Church, with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery. Rev. Tracy Putnam, Rev. Joey Hamilton, and Mr. Richard Sheffield will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Anthony Busby, Cody Sheffield, Clayton Sheffield, Nelson Chisolm, Wayne Jerome, Phillip Lucius, and Landry Sheffield. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Braswell, Tim McBride, Gene McNeer, R.B. King, Carlton Parsons, Troy Mitchell, Ralph Ellison, Nancy Kirk, and Sue McKay.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 9, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at North Winona Baptist Church.

Mr. Charles E. Sheffield, 92, passed away at his home in Winona on Monday, June 6, 2022. He was born, April 23, 1930, in Calhoun City to E.E. and Myrtle Burleson Sheffield. He was a member, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher at North Winona Baptist Church. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and member of the Winona American Legion. Before retiring, he worked as a Sr. Engineer Technician for the MS Department of Transportation.

Mr. Sheffield is survived by his wife, Bobbie Hamilton Sheffield of Winona; daughter, Lori Sheffield Busby of Birmingham, AL; sons, Richard Sheffield (Kathy) of Canton and Tony Sheffield (Nicki) of Winona; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elizabeth Byars.
