Charles Timothy “Tim” Rich

April 29, 1958 – September 7, 2024

Funeral services for Charles Timothy “Tim” Rich of Oxford, formerly of French Camp, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13 at French Camp Baptist Church, with burial following in French Camp Cemetery. Rev. Randy Bridges and Rev. Alex Lawson will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be the deacon body of French Camp Baptist Church: Robert Peacock, Scott Barlow, Travis Grice, Shane Campbell, Skeet Jennings, Jeff Ward, and Glen Sheedy. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Wade, Larry Mincher, Coach John Robert Cockrell, Bruce Hosket, Rusty McKnight, Larry Littlejohn, and Jim Hill.

Visitation will be Friday, September 13 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at French Camp Baptist Church.

Charles Timothy “Tim” Rich, 66, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born in Philadelphia, MS on April 29, 1958 to Charles and Ella Rose Thornton Rich. He was a professor at Rust College, who attained his Bachelors degree from Belhaven University and his Masters from Ole Miss. He loved his career and students, reading, and astronomy. He was a member of French Camp Baptist Church.

Tim is survived by his father, Coach Charles Rich of French Camp; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother.

  1. Tim Rich was a highly respected and dedicated professor and colleague at Rust College. Dedicated to his profession and to his students, he touched everyone with his kindness, wit, and generosity of spirit. We will miss him greatly.

  2. I met Tim in 1973 and we were classmates/friends for 50+ years. He was a kind, decent and respectful individual and put his faith and salvation in the hands of The Master. The world suffers a vacuum because Tim’s no longer in it, but no doubt Heaven rejoiced as he was welcomed by his beloved mother and his grandmother Rich.
