Funeral services for Daniel Edward “Danny” Stokes of Carrollton, MS, formerly of Greenville, MS, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Reidis Nash officiating. Burial will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery near Carrollton. Pallbearers will be John Hervey, Heath Pugh, Jackson Hervey, Darryl Miles, Jacob Froman, and Matthew “Matt” Stokes. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Edwards, David Stokes, and Dale Corley.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 30, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.
Daniel Edward “Danny” Stokes, 64, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at his residence in Carrollton. He was born July 14, 1959, to Jackie Taylor and Margaret Huggins Stokes. Danny worked for the Baxter Company and Kendall Crane Service in Greenville, MS and Protein Products in Sunflower, MS. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching his girls play sports.
He is survived by his wife, Scarlett Stokes; daughters, Danielle Hammond (Jason) of Hernando, Kelly Hervey (John) of Winona, and Katie Pugh (Heath) of Carrollton; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
