A graveside service for Doris Hood Tidwell, of Winona, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery in Winona. Rev. Gene Richards will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be David Tidwell, Paul Lambert, Nate Tidwell, Dillon Lambert, Justin Lambert, and Lee Howard.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 21, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Oliver Funeral Home of Winona.
Doris Hood Tidwell, 80, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024. She was born in Alabama to Tom Peck and Ora Mae Cutcher Hood on June 4, 1944. She was a member of New Hope Methodist Church in Winona. She was a retired employee of the Department of Unemployment Insurance division for the State of Mississippi.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Tidwell Carter of Carrollton; two sons, Paul Lambert of Jay, FL., and David D. Tidwell, Jr., of Winona; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David “Sonny” Tidwell; four sisters and one brother.
