Funeral services for Dottie Gooden Price of Natchitoches, Louisiana, formerly of Poplar Creek, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 2, at Bethany Church of God in Poplar Creek, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Terry Edwards will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Grayson Morrow, Seth Sturdivant, Jared Sturdivant, Benny Steed, Charles Steed, and Joey Hester. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Dorman, Hunter Ballard, and C J Perkins.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 1, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home.
Dottie Gooden Price, 81, passed away at Natchitoches Community Care in Natchitoches, Louisiana on Thursday, December 29, 2022. She was born in Poplar Creek to Robert and Mae Bell Dorman Gooden on August 24, 1941. She was a former employee of Walmart in Winona. When she lived here locally, she was an active member of Hebron Baptist Church near Poplar Creek. After moving to Natchitoches, she became an active member of Coldwater Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Wages (Cassie) of Guntersville, AL and Kenny Minchew (Valerie) of Natchitoches, LA; sister, Robbie Mitchell of Grenada; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Minchew; and brother, Floyce Gooden.
