Funeral services for Effie Yvonne Parker Blakely, of Duck Hill, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Red Hill Cemetery in Duck Hill, MS. Rev. Tim Lane will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Blake Wenger, James Cooper, Jr., Tanner Collins, Brayden Collins, Jeremy Collins, Jonathan Wenger, Tony Cooper, and Hagan Trimble.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 21, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.

Effie Yvonne Parker Blakely, 87, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2024. She was born to William W. “Dunk” and Ludie Mae Latham Parker, Jr., on December 5, 1936. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters, Tina Heath (Charlie) of Winona, Mickie Wenger of Winona, Glenda Cooper, of Winona, and Angela Blakely of Winona; son, Mike Blakely of Winona; son-in-law, Ricky Trimble of Winona; sisters, Grace Windham of Duck Hill, Diane Mayo of Gore Springs, and Sue James of Duck Hill; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Fred Blakely; daughters, Susan Blakely and Deborah Kaye “Debbie” Trimble; siblings, Ronnie Parker, James Wiley Parker, Charles “Punk” Parker, and Juawece Windham.

    I am so sorry to hear about Effie. She was so much fun. When we had our get togethers she seemed to enjoy herself so much. She was a lover of people.l know when she was around I would laugh so much. She loved her family so much. May the Lord help you in the coming days. With love , Corrine J.Johnson.
