Elaine Dean Mosley

March 17, 1933 – September 28, 2023

Funeral services for Elaine Dean Mosley, a lifelong resident of Stewart, will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, October 3, with Rev. Max Blackwelder officiating. Committal service will take place in the Oliver Chapel instead of Crape Creek Cemetery in Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Corder, Craig Collins, Blake Corder, Clay Collins, Preston Crouch, Lawson Crouch, Ledger Corder, Wyatt Collins, Barry Davis, Charles Davis, Phil Dean, and Bruce Dean.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 3 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Elaine Dean Mosley, 90, passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora. She was born in Stewart on March 17, 1933 to Luther and Margaret Green Dean. She was a retired medical records clerk of the former Kilmichael Hospital for over 40 years. She loved reading and was devoted to spending time in scripture every morning. She enjoyed watching gameshows, tending to her plants and gardening and was a wonderful seamstress back when she was able. She was the go-to for all of her family’s clothing mishaps whenever there was a missing button or a pants leg too long. She was a charter member of Tri-County Baptist Church in Stewart where she served in several capacities when she was able including pianist and teaching Sunday School. She loved and adored her family, to whom she was known simply as “Granna”. She will be missed by her family, many friends, and her Stewart community.

She is survived by her daughter, Nola Ann Crouch (William) of Stewart; sister, Margaret Ishee (Gerald) of Eupora; three grandchildren, Karen Crouch Collins (Baldy) of Stewart, Kelly Crouch Corder (Darrell) of Stewart, and Kevin Crouch (Beth) of Starkville; seven great-grandchildren, Shane Corder, Craig Collins (Courtney), Blake Corder, Clay Collins, Kara Crouch, Preston Crouch, and Lawson Crouch; four great-great-grandchildren, Ledger Corder, Maisey Corder, Wyatt Collins, and Elsie Elaine Collins; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Garrett” Mosley; daughter, Kay Mosley; and brother, Jimmy Franks Dean.
