Funeral Services for Mr. Elbert L. “Bud” Land, Jr. of Winona will be held on Tuesday, May 30, at 10:00 a.m. in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Oakwood cemetery in Winona. Services will be officiated by Rev. Art Land, assisted by Rev. Tim Buchanan. Pallbearers will be T. J. Evans, Zach Dauterive, Justin Brown, Walt Oliver, Jason Boyle, and Reece Oliver. Bud’s grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be Monday, May 29, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Elbert L. “Bud” Land, Jr., 71, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. He was born in Winona on July 28, 1951, to Elbert Lee and Elnora Mitchell Land. He was a retired farmer and former employee of Georgia Pacific in Grenada. He was a member of the Mississippi Fox Hunters Association.
He is survived by his daughter, Beth Land Gregg (Brandon) of Winona; son, Colby Land (Amy) of Duck Hill; six grandchildren, Hunter Land, Landon Gregg, and Ryland Gregg, all of Winona, and Brantlee Land, John Hayes Land, and Nora Kathryn Land, all of Duck Hill; sister, Martha Land Autry of Clinton; and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
I am so sorry about Bud. We rode the school bus and graduated from high school together. We were always friends and neighbors. I can not remember not knowing him. I am praying for all of the family. God bless you.
