Elizabeth Nunn Yates

A memorial service for Elizabeth Nunn Yates of Vaiden will be held Saturday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Vaiden Bible Church in Vaiden, with Rev. Finis Beauchamp officiating. A time of visiting will be held following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Elizabeth Nunn Yates, 80, passed away at her home in Vaiden on Sunday, September 6, 2026. She was born on January 20, 1946 to Rev. Billie C. and Vera Mae Holcomb Nunn. She was a retired secretary of FHA. She was a great cook and seamstress who loved making clothes, working in her yard, and tending to her flowers. She loved helping others and was a member of Vaiden Bible Church.

She is survived by her husband, Haggard Yates of Vaiden; daughter, Tina Vance (Gage) of Oxford; two sons, Todd Yates (Diane) of Vaiden and Kris Yates of Purvis; brother, Wayne Nunn; four grandchildren, Haley Vance, Narron Yates (Haley), Kaitlyn Yates, and Makenzie Yates; and two great-grandchildren, MacArthur Yates and Mathieu Achille Bougere Jr.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Wyvonne Nunn Burden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Vaiden Bible Church, 204 East St, Vaiden, MS 39176.
