Eunice Gray Turner Shelton

Eunice Gray Turner Shelton passed away on December 19, 2023, at her home in North Carrollton, MS. She was born in rural Carroll County on March 11, 1944, to Richard and Gertrude Johnson Turner.

Eunice was educated in the J. Z. George School System and graduated with honors on May, 1962. She later graduated from Delta State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology. She interned for fifteen months at the laboratories at Street Clinic-Mercy Hospital in Vicksburg. Then she began working as a medical technologist at Greenwood Leflore Hospital and served as a faithful employee for 32 years and 6 months, before retiring on March 12, 1999. She was a member of American Society of Medical Technologist and the Clinical Society of Laboratory Scientists.

Eunice was a member of the Carrollton Baptist Church and also served for many years as a board member of Evergreen Cemetery Association.

Eunice is survived by her husband, William Donald Shelton, whom she married on December 28, 1988; two stepsons, Jason Bradley Shelton and Christopher Donald Shelton; one step-grandson, Mason Taylor Shelton; one step-granddaughter, Mildred Adeline Shelton; her special son Christopher McClain and a special daughter-in-law Melanie McClain; two special grandchildren, Chamberlain McClain and Mary Hames McClain; several cousins; and her special friends, Debbie and Larry McClain.

Funeral services will be held at the Carrollton Baptist Church on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Carrollton Baptist Church.

The family has requested that memorials be sent to Evergreen Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 425, North Carrollton, MS 38947.
