Graveside services for Faye Melton Bennett of Vaiden, formerly of Duck Hill, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 15, at New Hope Cemetery in Winona. Rev. Joseph Sansing will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Wilson, Chris Wilson, Reece Ward, C.J. Wilson, Shad Mullen, and Jason Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be David Chandler, Daniel Wilson, and Mike Shirley.
Visitation will be Friday, September 15, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.
Faye Melton Bennett, 91, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023, at Vaiden Community Living Center. She was born in Carroll County, MS to James and Louise Lowery Melton on February 8, 1932. She was a member of Mission Baptist Church located near Winona and a homemaker.
Mrs. Bennett is survived by her daughters, Patricia Vance of Winona, Sharon Shirley (Michael) of Duck Hill, and Wanda Mullen of Winona; son, James Melton Bennett of Duck Hill; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lesley Bennett and son, Daniel Bennett.
