Gayle Self

Funeral services for Mrs. Gayle Self of Vaiden will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 31, 2024, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Vaiden cemetery. Rev. Philip McRae will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Shannon Self, Hayden Self, Holland Self, and Tyler Self.

Visitation will be Friday, May 31, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gayle Self, 73, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Vaiden Community Living Center. She was born to Martin and Katie Nail Peninger on July 8, 1950. She was a member of Shongalo Presbyterian Church in Vaiden. Prior to retiring, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Mississippi Department of Human Services.

Mrs. Self is survived by her daughter, Leigh Ann Self of Vaiden; son, Shannon Self (Jennifer) of Vaiden; sister, Diane Moore of Wesson; brother, Don Peninger of Ridgeland; three grandsons, Hayden Self, Holland Self, and Tyler Self, all of Vaiden, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Self, and brother, Randy Van Peninger.
