George Cecil Bailey

Graveside services for Mr. George Cecil Bailey of Carrollton will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 7 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County. Rev. Howard Beam will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 7 from 10 a.m. until service time at Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Carroll County.

Mr. Bailey, 76, passed away at his son’s residence in Greenwood on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. He was born November 29, 1945 to Loyd and Mattie Wiltshire Bailey. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Carroll County and a retired employee for Beat 4 in Carroll County. He enjoyed building projects and painting.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his daughter, Melisa Bailey Bowers (Jerry) of Carrollton; son, John Bailey (Shae) of Greenwood; two sisters, Nita Tullos of Milton, TN and Louise Long of Carrollton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lou Cummins Bailey; granddaughter, Brooke Madison Bailey; and sister Sybil Wiltshire.
