Graveside services for Mrs. Hazel Byrd McBride, of Winona, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in West, MS. Rev. Jay Anderson and Rev. Jerry Tate will officiate the service.
Mrs. Hazel Byrd McBride, 84, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, at her home in Winona. She was born to Victor and Annie Mae Wigley Byrd on September 3, 1940. Mrs. McBride was a member of First Baptist Church in Winona. She was a 1958 graduate of Lexington High School and attended Holmes Junior College. She retired after working for 40 years in the business office of Natchez Regional Hospital in Natchez, MS.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy McBride of Winona; two daughters, Cindy Wilson (Keenan) of Winona and Carol Short (Frank) of Greenwood; sister, Bernice Brooks of Starkville; five grandchildren Evan Wilson (Hannah), Allie Boggan (Buddy), Natalie Moore (Tripp), Dr. David Short (Tori), and Collin Short (Meghan); three great-grandchildren, John Asa Wilson, Micah Wilson, and June Boggan; and many cherished nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Cale Byrd and Ellis Byrd.
Mrs. McBride’s family would like to thank Accent Hospice and sitters, Necie Lee and Mary Hawkins Purnell, for their care.
