James Kenneth Hoffman, Jr.

Private graveside services and burial were held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, for Mr. James Kenneth Hoffman of Grenada, formerly of Brooksville, MS, with burial in Brooksville Cemetery. The Rev. Ken Salley of Grenada officiated. Kenneth was a member of Brooksville Baptist Church. He received his first Bible when he was 10 years old, and he’s gone to meet his Lord and Savior with that same little Bible in his hand. He loved his Lord and fellowman, offering help to anyone in need.

Kenneth passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at his residence in Grenada, at the age of 90. He was born August 3, 1933, in Choctaw County to Kenneth Hoffman and Lucille McMinn and moved to Lowndes County and Noxubee County at an early age. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Air Force. After graduating from Mississippi State, he enjoyed a long rewarding career in Education. Then MT caught his eye. He spent the next approximately 20 years enjoying the Wild West.

Along with his parents; his son, James Tate; daughter, Lee Ann Merritt; sister, Peggy Heard; and brother-in-law, Johnny Heard preceded him in death.

Survivors include the love of his life, Sarah; her daughter, Pandy (Jeb); grandson, Winston; granddaughter, Laurel; and great-granddaughter, Lexi.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org/donate or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
