James Troy Motsinger

Funeral services for James Troy Motsinger, of Greenwood, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 28 at Providence Baptist Church in Carrollton, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Kevin Tribble will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Don Alderson, Donnie Wiltshire, Steve Kent, Greg Avant, Joe Miller, and George Beckwith.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 28 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. James Troy Motsinger, age 62, of Greenwood, MS, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023, at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was born on July 29, 1961 in Lexington, MS to Clyde and Emma Lou Motsinger. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. He had a heart for Jesus and loved to sing, especially in church. He also served in the Army National Guard.

Mr. Motsinger is survived by his wife, Jennifer Alderson Motsinger of Greenwood; brothers, Ronald Motsinger, Robert Motsinger, and Dennis Motsinger; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

  3. Knew Troy from playing basketball and football in the parks around Greenwood back in the 1980’s and 90’s.
    Real nice person, always enjoyed seeing Troy around town. Sorry for the loss of Troy for his family, will miss seeing him occasionally around Greenwood.
