Funeral services for Jerry L. King of Carroll County will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Red Hill Church of Christ Cemetery near Duck Hill, MS. Billy Daves, Gene Barrett, Doug Segars, and David Franklin will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, and nephew. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Michael Boler, Mark Shiers, Bo Cleveland, and Harold Floyd.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 23, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.

Jerry L. King, 79, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born in French Camp, MS on July 7, 1943, to William and Jesse McGlothin King. He was a member of West President Church of Christ in Greenwood, former owner and mechanic of J&H Diesel Services, and a Veteran of the US Navy.

Mr. King is survived by his daughter, Tammy Harrell (Danny) of Teoc; sons, Wesley King (Sylvia) of Red Hill and James Grant (Tammy) of Tuscaloosa, AL; sister, Janie Henry of Zion, IL; brother, Claude King of French Camp; five grandchildren, Cannon Grant, Greg Harrell, Hayden Harrell, Vivian King, and Cameron King; and one great-grandchild, Crue Harrell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce King; son, Greg King; and sister, Peggy Salley.

  2. I will always remember hearing mr king cheer for every kid whether it was on the ball field or on the basket ball court or even on the track. He was always so fun to be around ! Praying for the family .

  3. He has been a part of my life for many years. I will miss him. Walking into church will not be the same without him being there to greet us or get a hug or kiss. You are all in my prayers.

  4. Jerry was my 1st cousin and I loved him like a brother! He spent a lot of time with us growing up. I know he is so happy to be rejoicing in Heaven with Joyce! He was a fine Christian man!

  8. Mr. Jerry was the example of the Christian I want to be. He and his family holds a special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are for all the people he loved and that loved.
