Jimmie Donald McNeer

Graveside services for Jimmie Donald McNeer of Carrollton will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday Dec 4, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery in Carrollton. Rev. Jerry McNeer will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Oliver Funeral Home.

Jimmie Donald McNeer, 89, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon surrounded by loved ones.

He was born in Carroll County to Henry Lee McNeer and Bessie McDonald McNeer on March 18, 1935. Mr. McNeer was the youngest of three sons. He grew up in the Barefoot Community and attended JZ George in Carrollton. After high school he joined the family construction business with his father. They built many houses over their years and took pride in quality work. Later Mr. McNeer became a pioneer in the Mobile Home industry set up and service. He worked all over the state for distributors and privately owned mobile home lots.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Irene Downs McNeer; two brothers Albert Lee McNeer and Billy Wade McNeer; a grandson Derrick Ross Peeples; and a great granddaughter Myers Katherine McNeer.

Mr. McNeer is survived by his three children, LaDonna McNeer Watkins of Carrollton, Jim McNeer and his wife Kim of Carroll County and Chad McNeer of Carrollton. Surviving grandchildren include: Kelly Carver (Brent) of Carroll County, Kristy McIntyre (Chad) of Stewart, MS, Hunter McNeer (Courtney) of Greenwood, Reed Douglas (Austin) of Monroe, LA, and Carter Perry (Clay) of Carroll County; eleven great grandchildren; and 1 great great grand.

Pallbearers will be Hunter McNeer, Austin Douglas, Clay Perry, and Cedric Jones.
