Joel Collins

A graveside service for Mr. Joel Collins of Winona will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 30, at Oak Springs Cemetery near Calhoun City. Rev. Tim Buchanan will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be John Barton, Alan Palmer, Luke Harrison, Marty Barton, Scott Taylor, and Odie Collins, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Wendall Stoker and Mike Hall.

Visitation will be Monday, May 30, from 11:00 a.m. until noon at Oliver Funeral Home.

Mr. Joel Collins, 66, passed away at his residence on May 27, 2022. He was born, August 6, 1955, to Odave and Alma Boyer Collins. Mr. Collins was a construction worker, served in the Air Force for 6 years, and a member of North Winona Baptist Church.

Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Debbie Palmer Collins of Winona; daughters, Marti Higton (Kalen) of Bozeman, MO and Julie Moffat of Tupelo; sons, Paul Collins of China and Nicholas Collins (Stevie) of Memphis, TN; sister, Darlene Taylor of Pope; brothers, Ronnie Collins (Jeanette) of Pope and Odie Collins (Teresa) of Senatobia; and seven grandchildren; Emma Kincannon, Allie Collins, Adalyn Collins, Aria Higton, Hazel Kincannon, Micah Moffat, and Jennifer Moffat. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vicki Collins; daughter, Layla Kincannon; and grandchildren, Ethan Kincannon and Ella Moon Kincannon.

  1. God finally got ahold of Joel and got his attention and changed him. Thank you Christ Jesus!! Joel will always be missed until we see him again and I am sure he will be waiting at the gate with open arms to greet us with his BIG SMILE and Big Heart…. Joel was so loved by so many and our hearts will always have a crack and miss him until we see him again– We so loved Joel!! It is just hard to believe he left us so fast but he is with JESUS now, Wow!! Joel with Jesus-enough said…
