Funeral services for Mr. John William “Buddy” Costilow, of Winona, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Winona. Rev. Randy Bridges will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be David Tidwell, Joey Kendall, Roy Erwin, William Bradley, Jeffery Ramage, and Charles Costilow.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 14, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. John William “Buddy” Costilow, 75, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024. He was born to James and Mary Helen Blaylock Costilow on March 8, 1949. He was a retired welder and mechanic.
He is survived by his daughters, Ruby Stone (Kenneth) of Winona, Nita Power (Larry) of Carrollton, Chrystal Lee Ann Costilow of Wiggins, and Paige Huffman (Brad) of Winona; his sisters, Mary Loden of Atlanta, Sue Brassfield, of Duck Hill, and Brenda Flippen of Pelahatchie; brothers, Sammy Costilow of Vaiden, Mack Costilow of Winona, James Costilow of Vaiden, David Costilow of Ethel, and Benny Costilow of Winona; eight grandchildren, SaFaye Stone, Savanna Harris (Layne), Kolby Harrison, Jacob Mills, Connor Mills, Brandon Huffman, Corbin Huffman, and Laura Woods; and one great-grandchild, Clayton Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Leverett Costilow; daughter, Carma Lynn Costilow; son, John William Costilow; grandson, Randy Dell Woods, Jr., and sister, Linda Gayle Costilow.
