Funeral services for Mr. Luther Earl Franklin, Jr. of Vaiden, formerly of Greenville, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greenville, MS. The graveside service will be held locally at Vaiden Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, following the service in Greenville. Rev. Jack Manor and Rev. David Westmoreland will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Scott Anderson, Tony Standrod, Trae Cadenhead, Jason Franklin, Jeffery Franklin, Ian Cadenhead, Ryan Anderson, and Tommy Carr.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 16, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greenville, MS.

Mr. Luther Earl Franklin, Jr., 71, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born November 13, 1950, to Luther Earl Franklin, Sr. and Thelma Parker Franklin. He retired from the USDA in 2017 and also worked as a truck driver earlier in his life. He was a member of Vaiden Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran of Vietnam. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling, fishing, and spending time with his brother.

Mr. Franklin is survived by his wife, Linda Franklin of Vaiden; children, Tristy Anderson (Scott) of O’Fallon, IL, Tony Standrod (Annette) of Louisville, KY, and Tiffany Cadenhead (Trae) of Austin, TX; sister, Faye Rodgers of Leland; brother, Jimmy Franklin (Ann) of Vaiden; eight grandchildren, Ryan Anderson, Bay Standrod, June Standrod, Piper Standrod, Ian Cadenhead, Nevaeh Cadenhead, Liam Cadenhead and Britnee Evans; two nieces; and six nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dewayne Murphy.
