Margie P. Ables

A graveside service for Margie P. Ables will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, at the Seneasha Church cemetery in Attala County. Rev. Jerry McNeer will officiate the service.

Mrs. Ables, 96, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024, in Winona, MS where she was under the care of Baptist Hospice Care. She was a member of Seneasha Methodist Church. She met the love of her life, Ellis E. Ables, when she was a student at Holmes Junior College, and he had just returned from being a soldier in World War II. She stated, “I saw this handsome man dressed out in his uniform and I knew I had to get to know him.” They were married for over 60 years. After their marriage, Margie fulfilled her dream of becoming a hairdresser and owned her own hair salon for over 30 years.

She is survived by her niece, Lana Heath of Winona and her nephews, Bobby Hulett and Carroll Hulett of the Hebron Community in Montgomery County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis E. Ables; her parents, Robert Lee and Nellie Palmertree; her brother, Hayes Palmertree; her sister, Madge Hulett and her great niece, Ashey Marie Heath.
