Margie Sue Nabors Jones

Funeral services for Mrs. Margie Sue Nabors Jones, of Carrollton, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 7, at New Bethel Baptist Church in Carroll County, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Reidis Nash, Rev. Joseph Sansing, Rev. Lee Hoop, and Rev. James McElroy, Jr. will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Jerry Corley, Tim Corley, Jamey Corley, David Hoop, Danny Hoop, and Terry Cox. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Gaylon Cox, Donnie Corley, Terry Tillman, and Angela Amason.

Visitation will be Monday, September 7, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church.

Margie Sue Nabors Jones, 86, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Grenada Living Center. She was born in the Jefferson Community to Jim Davis and Velma Junkin Nabors on November 18, 1939. She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Carroll County and later in life attended services at Grenada Church of God. She was a homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family. She also worked as a clerk at the local community grocery store.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry Corley (Wanda) of Greenwood and Timmy Corley (Barbara) of Carrollton; sisters, June Tidwell of Coffeeville, Jane Norwood of Grenada, Hazel Franklin of Grenada, and Peggy Webster of Grenada; three grandchildren, Jamey Corley (Christina), Angela Amason (Brandon), and Brent Nichols; a host of great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husbands, Thomas Carl Jones and Fred Corley; two sisters, Loyce Sullivan and Virgina Tilghman; and two infant brothers.
