A graveside service for Mrs. Mary Benora Johnson of Mantachie will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18, at Winona Garden of Memory. Rev. Terry Corley will officiate the service.
Mrs. Mary Benora Johnson, 85, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born in Cullman, AL to Benjamin and Mary Paulene Burney Rodgers on January 23, 1940. She was of the Baptist faith. Mary was a very talented artist. She enjoyed painting and crocheting before losing her sight.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Johnson of Mantachie; sons, Jeffery Wesley Johnson-Hastings of Gretna, NE and Ted Gray of Winona; sisters, Judith Nope of Missouri, Sonya Day of Cullman, AL and Mary Alice Stroud of Columbia, SC; six grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Lee Nelson and brother, Ben Rodgers, Jr.
