Graveside services for Michael Eugene Thompson of Richland will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13 at Poplar Creek Nations Cemetery near Kilmichael. Rev. Ricky James will officiate the service.
There will be a brief visitation held from 1:30 p.m. until service time at Poplar Creek Nations Cemetery near Kilmichael on Tuesday, January 13.
Michael Eugene Thompson, 65, passed away at his residence in Richland on Sunday, January 11, 2026. He was born on March 8, 1960, in Los Angeles, CA. He was a retired truck driver who enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He also enjoyed shopping and “looking for a deal”. He was a member of Damascus Baptist Church in Flora.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Walker Thompson of Richland; his mother, Marilyn Pierce; sister, Shawna Walker of Garden Grove, CA; and niece, Michaela Nixon of Wichita, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Thompson.
