Norma Hairald McCormick

Funeral services for Norma Hairald McCormick of Winona, MS will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mark Luther will officiate the service. The committal service will be held in the chapel immediately following the funeral service.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 20, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.

Norma Hairald McCormick, 99, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at her home in Winona. She was born in Parkin, AR to Luther and Angie Hairald on March 30, 1925. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Winona. She was a devoted employee of Walmart, where she worked for 27 years before retiring at the age of 83. She especially enjoyed working with her coworkers and getting to know her customers. She enjoyed spending time with her Pokineo ladies, reading, gardening and baking. She was a member of the Winona Lion’s Club.

She is survived by her daughters, Bettie Delcomyn (Gene) of Brandon and Millicent Craddock (Joe) of Grenada; sons, Milton H. “Buddy” McCormick of Winona and Larry Vincent McCormick (Donna) of Fort Worth, TX; seven grandchildren, Laurie Ables (Jerry), Mark McCormick (Amanda), Marshall McCormick, Chad Hodges, Nicole McCormick, Shelby Craddock and Macie Craddock; eight great-grandchildren, Katie McCormick, Trey McCormick, Jacob Ables, Joseph Ables, Rachel Ables May, Bella Lennon Baldia, Cash Bradley Baldia and Sadie Millicent McCormick; two step great-grandchildren, Fisher Gulledge and Emory Gulledge; one great-great-granddaughter, Elaina Ables; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Vincent McCormick, Jr.; granddaughter, Shanna Hodges Vaughn; grandson, Vincent McCormick; sister, Peggy Rodgers; and brother, Roy Hairald.

  1. God sure blessed her many times over in her 99 years. Large family and health that enabled her to continue working until 83! Wow. That’s our God. My condolences to all the family and friends. Psalm 116:15 tells us, Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. Mrs. Norma is having the time of her life right now with her Lord, hopefully that will give a comfort to you. It’ll only be a short time, and we all will join her in heaven for eternity. Romans 10:9-11

  2. miss McCormick was a neighbor of mine for 20 years. I knew her very well when my husband and I first moved there she brought us over a plate of tea cakes to welcome us to the neighborhood. She was a fine lady treated people so wonderful. She was a giving person, and she will be sorely missed
