Funeral services for Robert Morris “Buddy” Shackael, of Winona, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2024, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Benny Rigby and Rev. Terry Corley officiating the service. Burial will follow in Winona Garden of Memory. Pallbearers will be Joey Evans, Tommy Matthews, David Costilow, Kendall Downs, Jonathan Moorman, Buddy Thornton, Frank Stewart, and Kallan Nance.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 18, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, July 19, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.
Robert Morris “Buddy” Shackael, 86, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at his residence in Winona. He was born to Paige and Melvin Montgomery Shackael April 22, 1938. He was a member of North Winona Baptist Church and served in the United States Army National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Marcelene Shackael of Winona, daughters, Betty Downs (Kenny) of Carrollton, and Brenda Moorman (Brett) of Cleveland; sisters, Edna Montague of Winona, and Carolyn Jefcoat of Greenwood; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, and a sister, Jean S. Britt.
