Ruth is survived by her children, Haggard Yates (Elizabeth), Allese Martin, Travis Yates (Cathy), and Rita Neergaard (Richard); her stepchildren, Doug King (Nancy), Barbara King, and Barbara Galligan (Mike); fifteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Nolie Yates; her second husband, Herbert King; her stepson, Larry King; her son-in-law, Glynn Martin; and her parents and siblings.

Family of Ruth Yates King: we are so very sorry to hear about Mrs. Ruth. What a long life she has had. I (Deborah) remember what a spitfire she was at the store. She ran Yates Grocery with dedication for sure. Nothing got by her. I think she had eyes in the back of her head. Dennis worked for Nolie and Ruth and thought the world of them. She will be missed by all who knew her. Good people and family. Love in Christ!
Ruth was a sweet cousin. She was always there anytime our family had a need. We all loved her so much. I know she will be missed. Our prayers are with you all. We love you. Dan and Janie Williams Campbell
Aunt Ruth was not only my Aunt but she was mother to me and many others who needed her care. The years that I lived with Aunt Ruth were some of the happiest years of my life. I could never repay Aunt Ruth for all she gave me but I can say that I will miss that beautiful person for the rest of my life. Beverly Bingham Stokes
