Sandy Boyette Jones

January 30, 1965 – April 5, 2026

A memorial service for Sandy Boyette Jones, of Winona, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Carl White and Dr. Daniel White will officiate the service.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at Oliver Funeral Home of Winona.

Sandy was a mother, wife, and loyal friend. Many will remember her for her 30 years of service as the sweet bank teller who greeted all with a smile. Her friends will remember her as the life of the party on beach trips or at fish fries she hosted with her husband and daughter. Among her siblings, she will be deeply missed as the “Itty Bitty” sister who opened her home for holiday meals all recall fondly. Her fur babies and fur grandbabies will deeply miss her seemingly endless supply of treats, and her friends at El Cabrito will miss the kind lady who came daily for her sweet tea with “cuatro limones.” Among those who knew her best, she will be remembered for her fierce devotion to her daughters, both Marlee—who she lost far too soon—and Ashley—who stood with her through the best and worst of times.

Sandy Boyette Jones, 61, passed away early Easter Sunday morning, April 5, 2026, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Grenada. She was born in Winona, January 30, 1965, to Elbert Houston and Mildred Marie Orr Boyette.

She is survived by her husband, Brooks Jones of Winona; daughter, Ashley Jones White (Daniel) of Madison; sisters, Peggy Boyette Gooch and Sherry Boyette Welch, both of Winona; brother, Mickey Boyette (Donna) of Grenada; brother-in-law, Leon Rogers; and a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Marlee Marie Jones; two sisters, Margie Scruggs and Janis Rogers; and brothers-in-law, Bobby Scruggs and Maurice Gooch.

Memorial contributions may be made to God’s House of Hope, 800 School Road, Kilmichael, MS 39747.
