Funeral services for Sharon Bennett Shirley of Duck Hill will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27 in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Vaiden Cemetery. Rev. Randy Bridges will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Jake Tompkins, Aiden Tompkins, C J Wilson, Nicholas Wilson, Reese Ward, and Daniel Wilson. Honorary pallbearers Braxton Alexander, Aubrey Melton, Devon Wilson.
Visitation will be Monday, July 27 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home.
Sharon Bennett Shirley, 72, passed away at her home in Duck Hill on Friday, July 24, 2026. She was born on June 10, 1954 to James Leslie and Faye Melton Bennett. She was a retired homemaker and caretaker and was a member of Mission Baptist Church in Winona.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Shirley; three daughters, Jennifer Chandler, Santana Alexander, and Emily Tompkins; three sons, Lee Wilson, Chris Wilson, and Jeff Wilson; two sisters, Pat Vance and Wanda Mullen; brother, Jimmy Bennett; eighteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepson, James Michael Shirley.
