Thomas Brooks Thompson, Sr.

A graveside service for Thomas Brooks Thompson, Sr. of Winona will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at Oakwood Cemetery in Winona, with Rev. Robert Williamson officiating. Pallbearers will be Daniel Rodgers, Landon Collins, C.J. Nobles, Steve Vance, Matthew Scarberry, and J.T. Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Pearson, Thomas Brooks Thompson, III, and Charles Thompson.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 13, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home.

Thomas Brooks Thompson, Sr., 80, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born in Winona, MS on February 5, 1944. He was a retired truckdriver and mechanic for J.J. Ferguson and also worked as an Assistant Division Manager for Hulcher Services. He was a member of the American Legion, and a United States Navy Veteran. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his daughters, Kay Thompson and Kimberly Thompson; sons, Thomas Brooks Thompson, Jr., and Todd Thompson; sister, Diane Kyzar; brothers, Calvin Thompson, Donald Ray Thompson, Charles Thompson, and Scotty Thompson; ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. Thompson and Juanita Parker Vance; wife, Mary Hunt Thompson; brother, J.W. Thompson; and sister, Patricia Ann Smith.
