Thomas “Bud” Knight

October 17, 1936 – May 9, 2026

Funeral services for Thomas “Bud” Knight, of Winona, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11 in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Rev. Tracy Putnam will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Shae Ferguson, Brad Johnson, Larry Blaylock, Joshua Montalvo, Randy Bailey, and Ralph Montalvo.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Thomas “Bud” Knight, 89, passed away at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 9, 2026. He was born in Winona on October 17, 1936, to James Henry and Gertie Donahoo Knight. He played football at Holmes Junior College and was a retired route man for Lance Potato Chips. He enjoyed his morning coffee and fellowship with his buddies at McDonald’s, the deli, and Bridges. He was a member of North Winona Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, of 38 wonderful years, Betty Stoker Knight; two daughters, Melissa Knight Montalvo (Ralph) of Tallahassee, FL and Teresa Knight Van Buren (Steve) of Winona; brother, Jim Knight (Martha) of Troy, AL; five grandchildren, Jonathan Shivel, Hannah Van Buren, Mary Katherine Fulkerson, Joshua Montalvo, and Camille Montalvo; and  three great-grandchildren, Aiden Shivel, Jackson Fulkerson, and Anna Fulkerson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Moat Knight; and sister, Bea Nichols.
