
A memorial service for Thomas Samuel “Cat” Caffey of Winona will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18 at New Hope Global Methodist Church in Winona, with Rev. Gene Richards officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, April 18 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Thomas Samuel “Cat” Caffey, 83, passed this earthly life on April 6, 2026, at Middleton Oaks in Winona. Born October 26, 1942, in Lodi, Mississippi, Thomas Samuel Caffey, son of the late William Etheridge and Mary Elizabeth Robertson Caffey. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Yvonne Caffey. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Georgia Stewart Caffey; one daughter, Billie Ann McKee of Oakland, TN; his two grandsons, Samuel Kyle McKee and Thomas Avery Mckee, both of Knoxville, TN. He also leaves behind many family members and friends, one most special to him, Bozie Burrell.
Thomas graduated from Winona High School in 1961, where he was a star football player, and continued in the sport at Holmes Junior College. He also served a short time in the Army National Guard.
Thomas worked many years with Sea Company, out of Baton Rouge, LA, working in the oil fields. After retiring from the oil rigs, Thomas worked for several years with Kruger International in Winona, until his final retirement.
Thomas, loving known as “Cat” throughout his many years, loved and cherished his two grandsons. Each summer they would come and build clubhouses, work in the garden, and help put up pickles from the garden. Cat loved watching them play football in high school and college. He never missed a game. Thomas was a member of New Hope Global Methodist Church in Winona.

Cat was such a special and fun man. So sorry tonhear this Georgia prays have been lifted for all.

Georgia and family, I have such wonderful memories of Cat, sure am going to miss him. Often think of our visits when we were neighbors and the kid were little. Prayers and hugs for you and the family as you go through this difficult time.
